IMPORTANT HURRICANE INFO This is info about official NHC forecasts and, more specifically, our first post about TS Bertha and the hundreds of people who commented on the map we showed. On Thursday when the National Hurricane Center issued their first update on Bertha we posted their track on our web page and said it was the official NHC forecast. We had been saying for a day or two before the post that even if something formed it would stay WAY offshore and not affect us. Once it did form we said the same thing. Within 12 hours the NHC had changed their maps to agree with what we had been saying, and once people started commenting on our post they accused us of putting up our own forecast and trying to get ratings and scare people. One person even threatened to punch me when we sees me. THE MAP WE POSTED WAS THE OFFICIAL NHC forecast and NOT ONE WE MADE UP. Here is a link to all the official NHC forecast maps from the very beginning. Note on the loop how the first map matches the map we posted exactly. The NHC purposely tries to scare people until they are sure it isnt going to affect land. They have told me this to my face and I strongly disagree with that philosophy!!!
