IMPORTANT: I typically don’t send information of this nature, but this is important for our nation, our health, and our pocket books. As you may know, I work for an ethanol technology company. As of midnight tonight there is a deadline for the Renewable Fuels Standard, here in America, and I’m asking for your help! The Obama Administration is proposing to drastically reduce the amount of renewable fuel blended into the nation’s gas supply next year. This plan would raise gas prices and undermine the growing American industry that is helping to move us off of foreign oil. Since renewable fuel is cheaper than petroleum, this proposal would cost American drivers more than $7 billion in higher gas prices. It would also give a huge handout to the oil companies, more than $10 billion in new profits. Allowing this means growing health issues related to oil in consumer-based fuels. It is proven through extensive research that renewable fuels are cleaner and better for the environment. Currently, consumer fuels have nasty components known as aromatics in them. Aromatics are cancer-causing compounds that are emitted into the air through tailpipe emissions. This is helping to cause asthma, autism, and many other illnesses in urban areas (around highway infrastructures). I work closely with top researchers that have been compiling this data and looking to go to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with this information. I’m asking for your help.
