IMPORTANT INFO for Storybook Creator and Memory Manager fans! Please read, and let me know if you have questions. :D Digital FAQs These FAQs include important information related to Creative Memories software, digital artwork and the Digital Center, which now have final dates. Please read them carefully so you may take action as needed. SOFTWARE 1. Will I be able to continue using my StoryBook and Memory Manager software on my current computer after September 23, 2013? Yes, your software will continue to function as it is does now, with the exception that you will no longer be able to upload projects or photos to Creative Memories Digital Center. 2. How can I make sure I have the latest software updates of Memory Manager and StoryBook Creator? You can find the version number of your software by opening it, clicking the Help question mark in the upper right corner, and selecting About. The current version numbers are: StoryBook Creator 4.0: 4.0.4728 StoryBook Creator 3.0: 3.0.3950 Memory Manager 4.0: 4.1.4780 Memory Manager 3.0: 3.0.3691 If you aren’t running the current version of your software, download and install the appropriate software update prior to September 23, 2013. How can I back up software installation files in case I ever need to reinstall Memory Manager or StoryBook Creator? The last date you’ll be able to download these files is September 23, 2013. To back up software installation files, click on the appropriate links below and choose to save the files to your backup location. Make a note where you’ve saved the files. If you ever need to reinstall the software, double-click on the appropriate *.exe file to begin the installation. Memory Manager 4.0: downloads.creativememories/MM4.0/MM_4.0_Setup.exe StoryBook Creator 4.0: downloads.creativememories/SBC4.0/SBC_4.0_Setup.exe Memory Manager 3.0: downloads.creativememories/MM3.0/MM3Setup.exe StoryBook Creator 3.0: downloads.creativememories/SBC3/SBC3Setup.exe Please note: While we are giving instructions for backing up specific files for Creative Memories software, it’s a good general practice to make sure you have a backup of your entire hard drive. 4. Will I be able to reinstall/activate my StoryBook or Memory Manager software on a new computer after September 23? This will be dependent on our negotiations with our vendor. When we know the answer to this question, we’ll update this FAQ. 5. How can I back up my Memory Manager vault? You can make a backup copy of your memory vault through Windows Explorer/My Computer by copying the file(s) and pasting it to your backup location. By default memory vaults are saved in the following locations: • Windows XP: C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersDocuments • Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8: C:UsersPublicDocuments You can also find full instructions for backing up/moving a Memory Manager here: media.creativememories/PDFs/MoveMemoryManager.pdf 6. If I have uninstalled/un-activated versions of StoryBook Creator and/or Memory Manager, can I install and activate those now? You will be able to install and activate the software through September 23, 2013. We encourage you to do so, since we are still in negotiations with our vendor to finalize the functionality after September 23. DIGITAL ARTWORK 7. What is the last day I can purchase digital artwork? Digital artwork can be purchased through end of the day on August 21, 2013. 8. What will be the last date I can download my purchased digital artwork files? If you have your download link(s) you’ll be able to download artwork until September 23, 2013. If you do not have your download link and you purchased the content after September 2011, you can get the link(s) by going to creativememories (.ca) or your Consultant’s personal website. Sign into your account, and then select My Account > View my digital download information. You’ll be able to find this information in your account through end of the day on August 21, 2013. 9. How can I back up my digital artwork files? To back up your artwork files you’ll need to open Windows Explorer/My Computer, copy the files from wherever you’ve saved them on your computer and paste them to your backup location. Art kits for StoryBook Creator 3.0 end with the extension *.package; art kits for StoryBook Creator 4.0 end with the extension *.sbkit. By default, commercial art kits are stored in the following locations: StoryBook Creator 4.0: • Windows XP: C:Documents and SettingsAllUsersDocumentsCreative Memories Art Kits • Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8: C:UsersPublic(Public) DocumentsCreative Memories Art Kits StoryBook Creator 3.0: • Windows XP: C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersDocumentsCreative MemoriesPackages4 • Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8: C:UsersPublic(Public) DocumentsCreative MemoriesPackages You can find full instructions for backing up/moving StoryBook Creator project and artwork files here: media.creativememories/PDFs/MoveStoryBookCreator.pdf 10. How can I back up my digital artwork activation codes? If you’ve installed and activated the artwork within StoryBook Creator, open the software and select Manage content > Activation codes > Make a backup copy of my codes. The kit names and activation codes will be copied into a plain text document that you can save with your backup files. If you haven’t activated the artwork within StoryBook Creator you purchased after September 2011, you can find your activation codes by going to creativememories (.ca) or your personal website and signing into your account. Select My Account > View my digital download information. This information will be available through end of the day on August 21, 2013. For artwork purchased prior to September 2011, your download links/activation codes can be found in your order confirmation emails. DIGITAL CENTER/PRODUCTS 11. I have a product credit that expires after September 23. Will it be valid after Digital Center closes? No. We will be accepting orders on Digital Center through the end of the day on September 23. Product credits with expiration dates before September 23 will expire as normal. Product credits with expiration dates after September 23 will no longer be able to be redeemed after September 23. You may file a claim with the bankruptcy court by August 19 for the value of any unredeemed product credits. Please note that bankruptcy claims for credits that are used between August 19 and September 23 will be reduced by the value redeemed in that time period. 12. I have many projects uploaded to Digital Center. Is there a way for me to save them? Unfortunately, there’s no way to download projects that have been uploaded to Digital Center. 13. What will happen to photos I have uploaded to the Digital Denter? These are available to purchase as prints or downloads through end of the day on September 23. After that they will be purged from our servers and will be no longer available. Please note that we’ve reduced the fee for downloading your photos to $0.05/photo to make it more affordable for you to retrieve any photos you would like to keep. 14. What will happen to my Photo Print Plan? We encourage you to redeem your photo print plans before September 23. After that date you will not be able to redeem photo print credits. You may file a claim with the bankruptcy court by August 19 for the value of any unredeemed print plan credits. Please note that bankruptcy claims for credits that are used between August 19 and September 23 will be reduced by the value redeemed in that time period. 15. How long will I be able to contact Digital Support? Digital Support will remain open until the close of business on September 23. 16. Are you honoring your published turn times for digitally printed products such as calendars, storybooks and page prints? Turn times will depend on the volume of orders we receive. We do adjust the estimated ship date you see at the time of order to reflect our current manufacturing turn times based on current volume. 17. Will there be a place to find Help Zone documents/videos after the creativememories (.ca) site is shut down in August? We’re exploring options for this and will update this FAQ if/when we have a solution. 18. After Digital Center closes, will I be able to check the status of orders? For the shipping status of your order after September 23, please refer to the anticipated ship date on their order confirmation email. No other order status information will be available after September 23. 19. How can I report an order issue after Digital Center closes? In the event that you don’t receive your order, or you receive a damaged order, please report the issues via email to digitalsupport@creativememories by October 23.
