IMPORTANT NOTE (PLEASE READ): Idaho sportsmen need to be aware of some potential MAJOR changes to Idahos landowner program. Whether youre in favor or opposed, you REALLY need to have your voice heard on this one, as the impacts could be substantial. Changes include opening up more potential tags to smaller landowners, creation of Private Land Only tags which would be able to be bought and sold (free market/highest bidder), ability for landowners to secure more tags for things like providing access to landlocked public land, signing one-year depredation release agreements, and other stewardship tags, and more. F&G is stating that they believe that the net impact will be negligible, but the impact unit to unit could be wildly different. They are also stating that the extra tags that landowners receive would come out of the nonresident pool (NOT the NR pool for the unit the tag was for - i.e. draw tag - but out of the general or OTC tag pool). In some units, this could result in a dramatic increase in the percentage of tags that go to landowners.
