IMPORTANT NOTICE -----> Please Read Just over 3 weeks ago myself (Amanda) and my Partner did a mad late night dash to Gympie to save a tiny few week old foal (Peaches) The poor filly was extremely sick and while trying to get her on and off the float as well as trying to get her to stand up in the stable I got covered in her runny manure. 5 days later I got extremely sick and for 2 weeks I have been struggling through as best I can only having 1 full day off (Boxing day)... A week ago Peaches was diagnosed with cryptosporidium and she was placed in isolation at the Gatton Uni Hospital.... (She is doing amazingly I might add and is gaining 1 kilo of weight every day, she is also off fluids and will have more blood tests to see how everything is going on the 2nd) HOWEVER.. I have since also been diagnosed with cryptosporidium.... Last week I had a fast acting antibiotic injection but declined to go to hospital because I just had too much to do... But yesterday I really struggled and while delivering items and doing hospital rounds I almost passed out a number of times... Last night I was hospitalized for fluids and IV antibiotics, not only do I have cryptosporidium, I also have the flu, pancreatitis and im suffering from exhaustion.. My blood pressure was dangerously low. I have been told I am not to leave my bed for at least 3 days... Jen, Lace and a small amount of volunteers who handled Peaches also go sick and are on Antibiotics! Sadly, part of handling and care for sick animals is that you can be exposed to unknown illnesses! Now, Jen is also suffering from exhaustion and for 2 days she is taking time off. Lace who really needs a break but cant at the moment will be looking after things at the Gold Coast Sanctuary and Sandy who is our new Beaudesert Caretaker, who is also exhausted from being up all night with a sick horse will be looking after the Beaudesert Sanctuary as will our team of dedicated volunteers... So this is what im asking - For 3 whole days I will not be answering my phone to any calls AT ALL. I will not be assisting in anything OTHER than life threatening emergencies! Jen is taking 2 whole days off to rest as well and she is under strict instructions NOT to answer any calls from anyone other than Lace. If by some chance you have a life threatening urgent emergency (this means the horse will die quickly if assistance isnt found) PLEASE TEXT ONLY 0428333044 Everything else can wait or for all general enquiries please go to our website and email us through there. We have volunteers looking after all emails... We have so many horses to update and depending on how I feel I may post some updates but either way we will be back in full swing of things with lots of updates, plans, events etc etc after the 2nd of January. Kindest Regards Amanda
