IMPORTANT NOTICE!! The lack of snow but severely wet weather is having a detrimental effect to the trail bed and built features on the downhill trail at Knox Mountain Park. It appears individuals have been riding the trail on days when it should have been left alone due to saturated ground. We recently took a stroll around Knox Mountian to check on the condition of the features on the downhill track and found some severe ruts on a couple of the features and on some sections of trail. Please enjoy the awesome opportunity we have to ride during the winter but avoid sections of trail that are abnormally wet and refrain from riding on days when you are causing visible ruts! We are discussing a number of different ways for the City to work together with MTBco to help combat trail-bed damage and to alert users to the condition of the trail-bed ahead of time. There are signs going up to alert you to areas that are troublesome and expect to see some other measures in the near future.
