~IMPORTANT UPDATE ON THE INTER-TERRORIST INFIGHTING IN #SYRIA~ Earlier this year the pro-NATO media talked confidently about how the moderate rebels, comprised of the Islamic Front (IF) and Jabhat Al-Nusra (the Syrian branch of Al-Qaeda), were taking on ISIS so that extremists (code for the whoever the NATO axis doesnt want to be associated with) wouldnt dominate the terrorist insurgency. ISIS proceeded to terrorise the moderate rebels into submission by overrunning their fiefdoms and publicly shooting hundreds of them in the head. Al-Qaeda boss Zawahiri then urged the various terrorist outfits to kiss and make up (1). Which is what they did. Awkward. Heres how the January IF/JAN offensive against the ISIS went. All this happened between around the 13th and the 24th of January: - ISIS seizes most of the Raqqa governorate and executes over a hundred Ahrar Al-Sham (part of the IF) and Nusra Front fighters (2). - JaNs Emir, Abu Muhammad Al-Jawlani, disguises himself as a woman and tries to flee to Lebanon but gets intercepted by the SAA in the town of Jaswiya in Qusayr (3). - ISIS retains control over the town of Al-Bab in Aleppo and executes sixty people (4) - ISIS overruns Jarabulus (Aleppo governorate), executes over a hundred people, sets off car bombs, and decorates the town square with the severed heads of their rivals (5). - ISIS imposes sharia law over the people of Raqqa (6). - ISIS overruns town of Manbij in Aleppo (7). - ISIS overruns town of Darkush in Idlib (8). Mind you, the SMC was keen on working with the moderate Al-Qaeda (JAN) to take on the bad Al-Qaeda (ISIS) only to end up with three northern provinces being ceded to the latter and watching ISIS create a larger more unified command and control structure.
