IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The mighty Colorado River, 2334 km long, that passes through 7 US and 2 Mexican states, at one time as much as one kilometre wide in some places, so powerful that it carved the Grand Canyon out of solid rock on its way to the Gulf of California, no longer has a mouth. So much water is sucked out of it by farms and water-wasteful cities such as Las Vegas that it dries up before it has anything to empty into the sea. Remember that when you see the beautiful fountains of Vegas. Remember the poor Mexican fishermen who have nothing to catch from the dried mud river bed.
