IN GODS PRESENCE For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17) Dearly beloved, The Bible says, “And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit” (Acts 13:52). We also read in 2 Corinthians 3:17, “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” How joyous it is when the Holy Spirit abides in us! In 1954, Dr. Billy Graham planned to visit a certain place for the first time to conduct a big prayer meeting but he faced opposition. So he feared whether the meeting might be stopped and whether people might abstain from attending it. He prayed for the meeting for seven weeks but even then the fear did not depart from him. Finally, he called all his friends and cried in the presence of the Lord on his knees. The Holy Spirit descended on them powerfully. Dr. Billy Graham was filled with a new strength and a new hope. After that, they arranged the meeting in a massive stadium. When he went there, he couldn’t believe his eyes. The whole stadium was flooded with people even on the very first day. The Lord’s presence descended mightily and thousands of people committed themselves into the hands of the Lord. From that day onwards, the ministry of Billy Graham spread all over the world. Dearly beloved! There is eternal and ecstatic joy in the filling of the Holy Spirit in the presence of God. When He comes, our life will totally change; all fears will be dispelled and a new hope will dawn. The Bible says, “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Romans 14:17). When the Holy Spirit comes and dwells us, we will be able to live in righteousness and experience divine peace and heavenly joy. Prayer: Loving Lord Jesus, I seek your Kingdom and its righteousness. Please come and abide in me. Fill me with your glorious presence. Enable me to live in righteousness and experience divine peace and heavenly joy. In Your matchless name I pray. Amen. ----
