INDY GIRL ON TOUR AT WICKERMAN : This just in from our Indy Girl Joanne Pearson on her exploits Well known as a family festival and a firm favourite with my friends and family I was excited to share the weekend with good company and discover what families from around Scotland were voting..We arrived at t time on Thursday and I automatically got the flag pole out beside where we camped. Almost immediately we were greeted with an encore of Yess.We encountered no hostility from the security regards our pole and to be fair most of them were high fiving who ever was carrying the flag.Friday morning kids were jumping out their skins to get into the arena so off we trotted. Again loads of yess by passers by. Loads of yess from Dumfries, Stornoway, Port Glasgow, Kirkcudbright,Shetlands,Aberdeen Elgin, Newton Stewart to name a few.Once the morph suit was donned things went to a whole new level. The feedback was amazing, People were far more vocal about their yes vote. One guy even told me that he wasnt going to vote but seeing that was worth a yes vote. (Every vote counts)I expected to come into some conflict verbally but was surprised to hear none. Even the local press asked for a photo. I kept smiling but of course no-one could see. Our badges, stickers and paraphernalia disappeared almost immediately but it was good to see so many other yes groups were doing their part. Met loads of other guys and girls who were members of different facebook yes pages. As the temperature soared to 29 I could only keep the suit on for 10 mins at a time but the reaction was always the same.. On the Saturday as we went for outr obligatory wickerman picture my brother spotted some councillors who were just screaming out to be photographed with me. They declined to indicate how they were voting but were happy to be photographed with the yes flag.. It seemed we caused quite a stir as a film crew and a number of photographers asked our party to pose for photos.Overall the weekend was a little less relaxed than Im used to but we managed to have a ball and spread the word to many undecideds.Overall I would guesstimate about 60% of the people I encountered were vocal yessers
