INTERNATIONAL CALL-UPS: WHO IS AWAY? Posted on: Tue 04 Mar 2014 As always, there is plenty of Chelsea representation for the last round of international games before the World Cup squads are announced. Those players whose countries have qualified for Brazil will be hoping to impress their national team managers on Wednesday, while for some of our younger players competitive action awaits. England host Denmark at Wembley on Wednesday evening, with Frank Lampard , Gary Cahill and Ashley Cole all in Roy Hodgsons squad for the game. It is the final time the Three Lions will take to the pitch before the England boss names his provisional squad in mid-May, with the final 23 set to be announced after the friendly with Peru on 30 May. All four of our Brazilians - Ramires, Oscar, David Luiz and Willian - have been selected in Luiz Felipe Scolaris squad for a friendly with South Africa in Johannesburg on Wednesday. It is expected to be the Selaçãos final game away from home soil before the challenge of winning the World Cup they host begins. Eden Hazard will come up against Didier Drogba again as Belgium host Ivory Coast in Brussels. The Red Devils will be hoping to bounce back following consecutive home losses to two other sides hoping to make an impression at the World Cup - Colombia and Japan - in November. Chelsea loanees Romelu Lukaku and Thibaut Courtois are also named in Marc Wilmotss squad. Germany, who as usual include Andre Schurrle in their squad, host Chile in Stuttgart, while Cesar Azpilicueta will be hoping to feature for Spain in their appetizing clash with Italy in Madrid. Fernando Torres has not been selected. Our Africans have all been called up to their respective countries squads. Cameroon and Samuel Etoo travel to Portugal for what looks like a tricky test in Leiria and John Mikel Obi will be hoping to continue his fine form at international level when Nigeria take on Mexico in Atlanta, USA. Victor Moses and Kenneth Omeruo are also named in Stephen Keshis Super Eagles squad. Meanwhile Mohamed Salah has the chance to represent Egypt for the first time as a Chelsea player when they take on Bosnia in Innsbruck, Austria, while Demba Ba is in the Senegal squad for the first time since June 2013. They play Mali in Paris. Egypt and Senegal have not qualified for the World Cup. Christian Atsu, on loan at Vitesse Arnhem, is in the Ghana squad for their clash with Montenegro. Branislav Ivanovic , the Serbian captain, will be joined by Nemanja Matic for their game with the Republic of Ireland in Dublin, while Petr Cech , the skipper of the Czech Republic - another nation with no World Cup football this year - faces Norway in Prague. While all the senior games are friendlies, Andreas Christensen will be hoping to play for Denmark in their European Championship Under-21 qualifying game at home to Estonia on Wednesday evening. Englands Under-21 side face Wales, that game also a qualifier, and can call upon both Nathaniel Chalobah and Patrick Bamford as they seek to extend their lead at the top of Group 1. On Tuesday evening Frances Under-21 side, including our January acquisition Kurt Zouma, take on Belarus, while on Wednesday Thorgan Hazard and Belgiums other youngsters play a crucial group stage game with Serbia. Also at that level, friendly action beckons for Nathan Ake and Tomas Kalas . Hollands Under-21s have a home game with Israel while the young Czech side, like their senior counterparts, host Norway. Four of our Academy players - Lewis Baker, John Swift, Mitchell Beeney and Ola Aina - are in Englands Under-19 squad for their home game with Turkey on Wednesday. Isak Ssewankambo is in Swedens Under-19 squad for a double-header of games with Iceland, the first of which is being played tomorrow (Tuesday) and England Under-18s, with Alex Kiwomya, Charlie Colkett and Kasey Palmer in the squad, play the second of a double- header against Croatia at St Georges Park on Wednesday. You will be able to find out how all our players got on representing their national teams on the official Chelsea website later this week
