INTRODUCTION Friends, the Lord is about to put in your hands the answer to every lack you have experienced in your life. With this book, you will discover the power in the spoken word of a child of God. God says in Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” With your tongue, you can frame words that will lead to your prosperity and the same tongue can cause you untold poverty and hardship. We are in the wisdom era of the church; hidden mysteries in the word of God are now being uncovered. In the book of Matthew 13:11, Jesus said to his disciples, “…because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. This happened after He had spoken to the people in parables and the disciples came asking Him why He spoke to them in parables and not in plain language. Friends, part of these mysteries is the knowledge of the power a believer carries in his or her tongue. In the beginning when God looked at the earth, it was without form and void but then He opened His mouth and called forth what He wanted into place. There is power of creation in the tongue. We have the likeness of God. This means that the same power is innate in you if you are a believer. God is expecting you to recreate your deformed finances. When you stop creating, you start regretting. You can change your situation by your words. Romans 4:17 explains it better, “(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.” It is the nature of God to create and by virtue of your rebirth, He has given you the same nature. So you can release your miracle by simply calling it forth. Your marriage may have been dead for a long time but you can call it forth, back to life now. Your business, you ministry, your relationship may have been dead for a long time but you can call them back to life right now. Take for instance, Lazarus, the brother of Mary and Martha, had been dead for days but when Jesus came on the scene, He spoke and the dead came back to life. “And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him. (John 11:43-45). You can as well call forth your blessings and loose it from whatever is holding it. In the book of Ezekiel 37, God made Ezekiel see the dry bones and when Ezekiel saw those dried bones, God asked him whether the dry bones would live again. “And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? “And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest. Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.” (vs 3-7). So it went on till the dry bones became a mighty army. Today, I see your dry bones, your dry situations, and your dry marriage coming back to life. You can call them forth right now! Prophesy to that seemingly hopeless situation and receive your miracle. In the time of Elisha, there was a time when the water in the city of Jericho was very bitter (2 kings 2:19-22), he asked them to bring him a new cruse and put salt in it. When it was brought to him, he went to the source of the water and made a pronouncement, “Thus saith the LORD, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land.” (vs 21). Verse 22 says, “So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spake.” Elisha called forth sweetness and bitterness disappeared. You can call forth the grace of God in your disgraced situation; you can call forth fruitfulness in your frustrated condition; you can call forth plenty in your scarce supplies; you can call forth hope into your hopeless situation. Hust call it forth; whatever is lacking in your life, marriage, business; call them forth! All the people that the Bible talked about from Genesis to Revelation were aware of the principle of speaking into being what cannot be seen. So this is not the time for crying or mumbling some incoherent prayers. It is time to stand on the provision that God has made available in His word on “…calling forth those things that be not as though they were...” (Romans 4:17). Friends, you can change your situation. The power is in your tongue. Now is the time to begin to make things work, so speak! CHAPTER ONE BORN TO REIGN “Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:4-5) Before any building can be erected, there is always an architect whose duty it is to draw the plan of that building. No building will be built at all if the architect has not taken time to draw the building plan. No building can stand the test of time without a plan. Before any manager opens a company, he would have done what is called a feasibility study. He sits down to study what he wants to do and does the packaging very well. That is exactly what God did when He set out to create you. Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) says, “for I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” God had a lot of things in His mind when He was planning and designing you, before He placed you in your mother’s womb. All His plans concerning you are good plans; “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” (3 John 2) Part of His plan for you is that you be in divine health. Also He has made adequate provision for your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Like Jeremiah, you have got a word from the Lord that has gone ahead of you concerning God’s plans and purposes for your life. Just like every other spiritual law, this word went into operation as soon as you got born again whether you know it or not. In Isaiah 55:11, He said, “So shall my word be that goeth, it shall accomplish that which I please.” Thus in God’s divine plan for your life, He has already made us; He has seen our end from the beginning but He is presently making us what He has already made us. THE REIGN OF SATAN In your life as a believer, there are some occurrences that take place for which you have no explanation. You then find yourself asking God the question; why? Storms of different types toss you to and fro, and you are sometimes pounded in the mortar of frustration and hopelessness. But in the beginning, it was not so. Originally, God enthroned man far above any other living thing. Man CHAPTER TWO GO FOR YOUR CANAAN Nature has made it that every good thing in life has a price tag attached to it. These prices we pay often seem to be bigger than life but actually God has made them all for our lifting. It is note worthy for you to see your lifting in every obstacle that comes your way. Take for instance the children of Israel and the land of Canaan. They were overwhelmed by the seeming obstacles facing them, and it appeared to be an uphill task to posses the land. But it takes only a man who has a powerful knowledge of his inheritance in Christ and is never afraid to speak what he believes and then act on it, that can enter into his promised land. Caleb understood these principles and that was why he was the only one apart from Joshua in his generation that entered Canaan and possessed it Num. 13:30-33 says, “And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, let us go up at once and posses it for we are well able to overcome it”. But the men that went up with him said, we be notable to go up against the people, for they are stronger than us. And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grass hoppers, and so we were in their sight”. Now let’s take a look at these three great miracle steps that can warrant you your passage into your Canaan. i. Spiritual sight Your perception of what you face in life will in the long run be a determining factor on whether you will progress in life or not. God told Abraham in the book of Gen. 13:14-15 that as far as his eyes shall see that is his inheritance (*****). If you can train your minds eyes as a Christian to see only what God sees concerning you then you’re sure of always seeing on top of obstacles, and not below them. Your spiritual sight or perception if faulty can be a hindrance for blessing, or a limitation to what God can do in your life. Philem. 14, “But without thy mind will I do nothing; that thy benefits should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly. Prov. 22:7a, “For as he thinketh in his heart so is he. Jer. 1:12, “then said the Lord unto me, thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it. ii. Confession The power of positive confession, for saying what God has said concerning you cannot be overemphasized. In num.14:28 God says that as we say unto His ear, so He will do unto us. (Paraphrase) Eccl. 5:6 says, “suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin, neither say thou before the angel, that it is an error; wherefore should God be angry at thy voice and destroy the work of thy hands”. This scripture shows that the word that comes out of your mouth is what determines your success in life. You will either fall or rise by the words of your mouth. Prov. 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof”. You can change the course of your life by the direction of your words. James3:1-8 says that your tongue is like the bit in a horse’s mouth. Whichever way the rider pulls the horse will go because of the bit in his mouth. Your tongue though a very small member of the body, is powerful enough to direct your whole life. This is good news; if you have been going the wrong direction, you can turn it around by believing and speaking the word of God; look up the following quotations Prov. 12:6, 12:18, 12:14, 14:3, 15:4, 10:11, 13:2-3. The bible is filled with revelation knowledge on the power of your words. James 3:1-8 goes on to say that your words are like the rudder on a ship. Even though they are very small in comparison, they direct the way the ship goes. You can change the course of your life with the words you speak. Release your faith with your words. Mk. 11:22-23, “have faith in God for truly I say to you whoever says to this mountain, be removed and be cast into the sea, and those not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says”. You have what you say when you believe what you say will come to pass. This is the spirit of faith, “and since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, I believed and therefore have I spoken, we did believe and therefore speak (2 Cor.4:13). The word of God is full of power, as you speak it in faith, the Holy Ghost will bring it to pass (Luke 1:26-38, 45). iii. Action The book of James 2:17 says, “even so faith if it had not works, is dead being alone”. If you say you believe, you should then step out in faith and do that seemingly impossible task. And that is what then moves God to work on your behalf and establish your miracle. Faith according to Heb. 11:6 is what moves Gods hands to fight our battles. Action is the expression of faith, that is, what you believe, but if you don’t know what to believe how will you have faith? You must first have knowledge and faith then action will come as a release for your miracle to happen. God said in the book of Hos. 6:4, “my people suffer because they lack knowledge”. All the knowledge we need to posses our inheritance is found in Gods words. He says in 1Cor. 3:21 that “all things are yours”. All things are ours in Christ Jesus. He also said in 2Peter 1:3 that “God has blessed you with everything you will need that pertains to life and godliness”. He says in His word that, “He has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus” Eph. 1:3 (paraphrase) GO FOR YOUR CANAAN Now that you know your inheritance in Christ Jesus, you know that there is nothing that you’ll ever need that God wont supply. You should now free your mind, Rom.12:2, “and be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God”. Until you have removed the poverty mentality from your mind, you will never enter your Canaan. Beloved there’s nothing that defiles (****). Because of their mentality, most Christians run after the resource, instead of their source. God is your source and every other inheritance and miracle is the resource. Another thing that hinders us from entering our Canaan is looking unto channels (men) that God has arranged through which His resources will flow down to you. The bible states clearly that such a person is cursed Jer. 17:5, “thus saith the Lord, cursed be the man that trusteth in man and maketh flesh his arm and whose heart departeth from the Lord”. There’s no amount of prayer and prophecy that will prosper a man cursed by God, unless he refrains from his sin. This is because when you hold unto man, deprivation becomes the other of the day, but when you hold unto God, your source even if the channels refuse to release the divine supply to you, God will prepare other channels. IGNORANCE, AN OBSTACLE Now, if you are oblivious of the spiritual and material provisions of God in this end time targeted at you, then you will never enter your Canaan. I need to mention the great importance of speaking, decreeing, calling forth your miracles with your empowered tongue. But if you don’t know Gods word, you won’t know what to call forth, and so the devil will cheat you. You have been suffering for long now due to ignorance, Hos. 4:6 says, “my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because thou has neglected knowledge…” Whatever you don’t have knowledge of, you don’t take possession of. Knowledge will always give you an edge over your adversaries. Thank God that through knowledge you, He has made you to know that he has given you all things that pertain to life and godliness. 2Peter 1:3 says, “According as His driven power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that called unto glory and virtue”. Yes, God has called you to glory and virtue and this is only possible if you as a Christian can locate and appropriate the great promises He has made for you to be a partaker of His divine nature, but you must seek these promises out. The word of God says in Matt. 13:11 that the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven is given to you that is born again to know. “He answered and said unto them, because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given”. So beloved, the only way out of suffering is knowledge. When the woman with the issue of blood in Mk.5:21-29 heard about Jesus, she went forward and received her miracle, but if she had no knowledge of Jesus, she would have sat down in hopelessness and despair. Let us look at her story more closely. DECISIONS FOR DISTINCTION Mk. 5:24-29, “And Jesus went with him and much people followed him and thronged him. And a certain woman which had an issue of blood twelve years, and had suffered many things of many physicians, and has spent all that she has and was nothing bothered, but rather grew worse. When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind and touched his garment. For she said, if I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straight away the fountain of her blood was dried up and she felt in her body that she was healed of the plague”. The bible said that she suffered many things of many physicians and had spent all that she had and was nothing better but rather grew worse. This woman suffered untold things in the hands of men; she was living in perpetual agony and in abyss of depression and distress. She was sent out by her relations when all her efforts to regain her health proved futile. She was an epitome of frustration and dejection. She bled for twelve consistent years. This means she could not come out for village meetings and social gatherings because of her stench. But one day, (that day has come for you now) she heard about Jesus and made up her mind saying, I will no longer suffer. I won’t sit down and watch myself suffer, I will go into my Canaan, it won’t elude me anymore. Beloved, intolerance of your present situation creates a future. The bible records that she did not avoid the crowd, she made a decision to get to Jesus and that decision made her stand out, distinguishing her till this day. Now is the time for your own distinction. Make the decision to move out of your dilemma and into your Canaan, and you will find yourself there. CHAPTER THREE THE FORCE OF FAITH The laws of faith are governed by three main principles viz; believing, speaking and seeing. What you believe and speak matters because that is what you will see. If you believe poverty, you will speak, and so you’ll see it. Our speech is a function of what our thoughts are made up of. If our thoughts are on failure most of the time, then our words will always carry failure and they will cause the manifestation of failure in our lives. Thoughts are like seeds which are planted in the fertile ground of our mind, and which in turn is like an express way where different thoughts drive pass, and anyone that dwells on long enough will very soon drive its ways from the spirit (mind) to the physical. And that’s the way things are made to happen, that’s why the bible says in the book of 2Cor. 10:5 that we should cast down every imagination that is not in line with Gods purpose for our life. Philem. 14, “for without your kind will I do nothing that your benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly”. So now that you know the importance of the mind and the types of thought that you entertain, there is now need for you to purge your mind of evil thoughts and think only on the type of things as directed in Phil. 4:8, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue know that whatever you believe is what you will become. Abraham believed God and I bet you he spoke it to his counterparts, and later he possessed his miracle. Before there is a release there must be a conceiving. And what you conceive is what you will release. Thus, sit and spend time with God’s word, renewing your mind Rom. 12:1-2, “I beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy acceptable unto god which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” and begin to conceive your very own miracle. UNTIL YOU BELIEVE YOU WON’T RECEIVE Beloved, the scripture says the truth shall make you free. It is the truth you know that can set you free, the truth you do not know cannot set you free. There is nothing you can do against the truth, but you can do something for the truth. The only thing you can do for the truth is to believe and act upon it because it is the only key that can grant you access to your lifting. Information brings transformation. Your attitude towards this truth is what will determine your altitude. Isa. 7:5-9 says, “because Syria, Ephraim and the son of Ramaliah, have taken evil counsel against thee saying, let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal, thus said the Lord God, it shall not stand neither shall it come to pass. For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin, and within three score and five years shall Ephraim be broken that it be not a people. And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah’s son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established”. From this passage it is clear that there was a plot against Samaria, but God instructed Ahaz that if he will not believe, what they had planed will never come to pass. The bible says in the book of Philem. 14 that without thy mind would I (God) do nothing. So, you have to believe and agree with God’s word as the channel of God’s blessing. God has given you so many opportunities to decide what you want to be done and this means that you are a voice to be heard. The bible says that we are seated together with our Lord Jesus in heavenly places (Eph. 2:8), so you belong to the heavenly decision makers to decide on things not to be and those that are to be. There is nothing that God can do without your permission, without your faith. For instance, in Isa. 48:5, Hezekiah the king was told by God to prepare his house because he was going to die, Hezekiah knelt down and said, “God, I don’t agree with this, I disagree with this”. He petitioned the Lord and thus it was not established. SPEAK IT God said, by my word command ye me. Beloved you shall speak your belief and it is the duty and responsibility of God to establish it (Job22:28). So you are a voice to be reckoned with. Speak your heart’s desire thereby setting in motion a release for your miracle. So, if you believe it, you should speak it, since your words are an authority and even the angels hearken unto it and are committed to bringing it to pass (Ps. 103:20). God said in the book of Num. 14:28 that it is as you have said unto his ears that He will do unto you. Release your miracle by verbalizing it. Bring it out of the womb of your mind, by praying it out, sing it if you like. Tell people about it, let the angels hear it, let the devils hear it, but most importantly, let God hear it, for He shall surely bring it to pass. In the following few chapters, we shall be looking at the agencies for releasing your miracles in addition to speaking, decreeing and calling forth your miracles.
