Old Song by Pastor: Blessed assurance Jesus is mine Jesus is mine Oh what a foretaste of Glory divine.... Today is a special night and you will be even more blessed. In Gen 12 God called Abram , the Great father of faith...God just called him, he did not do anything to deserve this. God told him through you shall all nations of the earth shall be blessed. God said his seed will be in a foreign country and be blessed. The name of his promise, father of many was given him. Isaac was born, then Jacob, the promise went with Jacob and from Jacob went the 12 patriarchs. Joseph went ahead of them to Eqypt from slave to Prime minister. Through his brothers brought the father with his siblings for 400 years. After this Moses brought them from Egypt back to Israel. THEY WERE A CHURCH AFTER ALL. The word church is a a new testament word. It is really ecclessia, the called out ones as was Abraham from his kindred, fathers house and kindred. Eventhough they were in Egypt, that is not where the calling begun but Abraham fathers house. He said if you obeyed my voice i will make you a kingdom of Priests. I will make you royal priests, king priests that was. He was not talking about a society led by kings but they will be a kingdom of priests. TWO IMPORTANT THINGS: 1. Our authority of a king- power to bless and to chance a mans life. 2. Our responsibility as priests.-men require revelation and intercession because they were men. There is a burden on your hearts for people. You are either a praying pastor or a playing pastor. You will be like your master Jesus Christ. T. L. Osborn says if they can hate this much i can love this much. Always cover them with your umbrella of love. The first responsibility of a Pastor is not to preach 1. You groom 2. You train 3. You Intercede 4. You love people 5. You train them to reciprocate your love OUR FULFILLMENT IN LIFE IS NOT IN OTHERS APPRECIATION, RECOGNISION OR LOVE BUT DOING WHAT GOD CALLED US TO DO...... PLEASING THE FATHER SHOULD BE YOUR GOAL. It doesnt matter who you please, if you are not pleasing the father, you are simply in trouble. We are amidst oxygen , breathing it yet we cant feel it. Same is the father, we live in him yet might not feel Him. He can therefore manifest himself closer to you than others. Do you want to experience him as though he did not exist? I did not invent the Holy Ghost, Im the work of his hands. He made me. This called out church started their worship in the wilderness. He asked that they built him a tent, a tabernacle, it was just a simple structure. They couldnt carry much money from Egypt so the tent was simple. GOD DOESNT ASK YOU SOMETHING YOU CANT Give. People still have wilderness style churches but itll not a rule. In the days of David, it changed. Solomon called his temple magnifiscent. The people build the church. If you build the people, theyll build the church. Some care for the church and not the people. At a point the church in the wilderness scaterred. Jesus said i will build my church. WHERE WAS THE OLD CHURCH? IT DIED AND WAS BURRIED. The Levites started gathering the people where ever they were so they started having gentle proselytes, gentle converts howbeit in Judaism. This first church died and was buried in the Jordan. God told Joshua take 12 stones and burried them in the Jordan, the stones Joshua put were referred to by Jesus as will praise him if yea dont. He said to Peter you are living stones and Jesus Christ himself beign the chief connerstone. Those burried stones have come alive again. The Bible is a revelation about the past, not the history about the past. I remember that old church of my grand dada, they were a small country church, full of love and welfare. As the years faded away, the pews were filled with the aged with old and hoasky voices. What happened? Then i met another church, it was 800 in membership with the youth in majority. The biggest of its denomination with everyone longing to Pastor this ever bubbling church. I grew that is, i got accustomed to the bigger picture. I think you should look at where you were, are and going. Whats the future of your adversary, adversity? What does he want you to see. God told Moses the Egyptians you see today you shall see them no more. The adversary and adversity you see today has no future. See the future of Gods glory. You have a future of influence. You are influencing people for Gods future. Talking about his past, there were other things that seem to indicate where i was going. At 11 someone asked in class who will be a Pastor ? I shot my hand before i remembered. Two years later i veered off and was teaching people how to dance. I received a letter from a person that saw me bringing me on course.It was inside me, if i could have run away i could have. Naturally i did not have what it took to be a Pastor but when the Holy Ghost came on me, that made the difference. Factors affecting churches of the future: 1. Location- know which part of the city and nation you are in. Take your location, the city and its environments into cognisance. 2. Economics- resource allocations. Human wants, Processes of their satisfactions, how wealth is generated and distributed. Strike whiles the ion is hot. Strike when you ought to. There are cycles. 7 , 10, 15 years are usually the cycles and if you dont, you might waste a lot of time. 3. Generations Gap- different generations are attracted to different things. You have to decide if you are the Pastor of all or some of your members. 4. Communications Technology- style of communications change and we must know. 5. Government Policies- governments wanted a sleeping giant, they know the church ought to be sillent but not now. Jesus said while men slept.... There is migration from community church to mega-urban churches. The local community church is in transcience. THE VIRTUAL MEDIA CHURCH: The television ministry is a yesterday ministry. Five years ago i had a training themed BEYOND TELEVISION. NB: THE CHURCH DOES NOT TRANSIT FROM ONE STATE TO ANOTHER, THE CHURCH IS EXTENDING. THE CHURCH OF THE FUTURE MUST APPLY THE PRINCIPLES OF CHURCH GROWTH AND MGT. CHURCH IS ALL ABOUT PEOPLE. In so long as people are there, church must be there. Church is not about social structures but people. Rhapsody begun as a local church teaching material. The Lord said it will cover the world but i didnt know how. You got to have a missionary outlook. Today, great is the company of them that published it. You have to develop an effective online virtual church. Online means its immediately available either by connection to the internet or any other remote service. We want things ever faster. Three things about todays loop: Faster Easier Richer The bible says then came Jesus. We are in the now , he is in the now of our lives. He is not embarrased. Today women want to carry babies in their womb for 4 months, extract the baby and get it gestated for the remaining 5 months, women got work to do. Times have changed. THERE ARE TOO MANY PEOPLE LEFT BEHIND- that society was left behind: The earlier church i spoke about thought the youth are gone, what they dont realise is they were left behind. TWO WORDS LEFT BEHIND. Ways and means of how others are LEFT BEHIND. 1. Socio-economics- HERE IS NET LOSS OF MANPOWER TO MIGRATION CALLED BRAIN DRAIN. The worst brains are left behind with the cream taken away. 2. Mental Conditions: THE MENTAL CONDITIONS OF THOSE LEFT BEHIND IS a. Ignorance b. Mind stupor - the man is sleeping ,you cant stirr him. c. Vision Freeze- they dont see more, they dont catch more. Im always seeing, Im a man of vision. d. Complacency-theres still a lot of land to be taken. e. Lack of means: i. lack of finances ii. lack of adequate inspiration. Sometimes the inspiration is so strong. I let the FLOW OF THE SPIRIT CARRY ME TILL I DO. IVE LEARNT TO NURSE MY INSPIRATION. ILL CARRY IT TO THE END. A man of God: 1. Only speaks for God. 2. Airs Gods views.
