IRVINES HISTORY Part Four IRVINES SECT SCANDAL One of the strangest characters from the pages of the former Royal Burghs story is Elspeth Buchan and her religious sect; who were based, for a time, in the building depicted below in Glasgow Vennel. Mrs Buchan had a very interesting take on the word of the Lord, one which would have had considerable appeal 180 years later (in the era of free love).
