IT IS POSSIBLE TO BE MUSHRIK WHILE YOU BELIEVE IN THE EXISTENCE OF ALLAH ====================================================== Allah (swt) says, And most of them believe not in Allah except that they attribute partners unto Him EMQ 12:106 Shirk is different types: 1- Sarf - to give the right of Allah to another instead of Allah, directing your worship to a false god e.g. to say I dont believe Allah created us, it was mother nature, Allah cannot make laws, the United Nations makes the laws --- etc 2- Atef - to combine worshipping Allah with worshipping other than Allah . eg. to say We must obey Allah AND the Queen, or to say, Allah legislates laws and so does the King / Parliament, or to combine implementing Allahs laws with implementing man made laws along side it such as al yaasiq. 3- Tateel - to completely deny the existence of Allah claiming His rights for yourself. e.g. someone saying, There is no god, we create our own destiny or There is no god, we make our own laws or like Firawn said, I am the highest lord and build me a tower in the heavens to see if there is a Lord for Musa but I think he is lying.
