ITS ANOTHER LONG UPDATE - PLEASE READ ALL Huge thanks to everyone who made the effort to come out on Sunday. A few of us were still feeling the after effects of a Mexican the night before, but still managed to piece together some pretty cool formations. Just a few weeks from Oktoberfest held at Skydive AUCKLAND, and what will be the last time to get yourself an invite for the Big way attempt in TAUPO in November. Skydive Abel Tasmen Sue (who is running the camp in the skydive Abel Tasmen) has given the nod to the 5 guys and girls from SAT, to book there tickets and head up to Taupo for the event, (this is providing you guys put the time in to work on those skills) again please contact Sue Directly to find out dates for your camps, it looks like they are happening most weekends. Thank you to all for putting the time in to get your skills up. Skydive Taupo We have Another training camp it skydive Taupo this weekend coming, please contact Chris Clements directly to book a slot. Hopefully there will be better weather for you guys down there?! General With only 7 weeks to go before the record in Taupo, I thought I would explain the format of the event down there. Saturday 22nd - 6am Start - Aim 4 loads or more Load 1 - 2 x 16 ways (8 from each plane) Load 2 - 2 x 16 ways (8 from each plane) Load 3 - 2 x 16 ways (8 from each plane) Load 4 - 32 way (2 planes) Load 5 ??? We will be running 16 ways out of two planes on load 1 - 3 (8 from each plane) each participant on the record will be given 2 opportunitys to show there skills off, and demonstrate that they can safely negotiate a big way formation from duel planes. The top 32 jumpers will be brought together for a record beating jump, in the afternoon (load 4). If time / weather / plane availability allows we will push that number up providing we nail the 32 way, or repeat the jump swapping out jumpers if people have failed to do there job. Sunday 23rd 6am start - 4 loads or more - 3 planes Load one - 36 way (3 planes, 12 from each) Load two - 40 way (3 planes 13, 13, 14) Load three ? ? Load four - ?? As we add jumpers and planes, we add complications, but, the aim is to gradually build the formations to include everyone who has made the minimum standards and the effort to get to the event, and is not going endanger the other participants. Anyone smashing into the formation, Demonstrating poor tracking skills, making poor decisions under canopy, or otherwise being an ass will be cut from the days jumping. (being an ass includes, being late for briefings, being a skygod, interrupting briefings with your opinions, which may be valid, but having 40 per jump is going to slow the whole process to an eventual standstill. However If you have safety concerns, that you feel have been missed in a debrief, please raise them with me afterwards, If you feel aggrieved by a decision, please raise them with me afterwards, In fact anything you feel is important, please bring it to me, and ill do my best to listen, and act on it if I feel its appropriate. VERY IMPORTANT Everyone who is coming to Taupo needs to have the following things with them. NZPIA MEMBERSHIP LOG BOOK NZPF membership (Tunnel Discounts included) Proof Of residence in NZ High Altitude Exam (if you dont have it talk to your DZ CSO or me) An Audible Current Reserve Pack job (please check now) A completed Registration form (attached bellow) CONGRATULATIONS , I would like to congratulate and welcome to the following jumpers, all of whom have put in a lot of effort over the past two months.
