ITT Technical Institue is hosting their 2nd Annual Get Supplied Event at their Norwood Campus - 4750 Wesley Ave. on August 17, 2013. This is an event where they give out backpacks full of donated school supplies to children in grades k-6. This event is open to the public. It starts at 10am and will finish when all the backpacks are gone! Last year they helped over 200 students get the supplies they needed for school. This year, their goal is to fill 500 backpacks! Anyone wishing to help with this outreach can do so in one of the following manners: • Donate supplies! We are collecting the following supplies: Pencils, Scissors (children’s pointed tips), Glue Sticks, Crayons (24 count box), Erasers, Dry erase markers, Folders (3 pocket with prongs), Markers, Spiral bound single subject notebooks (wide-ruled), Colored pencils • Set up a table at the event. Do you have a product or service that would benefit children or parents? You can set up a table at the event. • Donate money for supplies. If you don’t have time to go pick up supplies but want to help out, you can donate money and we will do the shopping. • Donate snacks or drinks for the children. If you are in the food business, this would be a great way to get involved. • Come help work the event. You have to love children, be able to work at a fast pace and be prepared to say “you’re welcome” about 500 times! If you would like to get involved, please contact me! I’ll talk to you soon.
