Ian Malcolm took some pictures in the Machangulo Private Nature Reserve which is just north of Maputo Special Elephant Reserve in the southern tip of Mozambique of some Olive Bee-eaters. These are of the nominate race (superciliosus). This is a great record as it is probably some 500km outside of its known range further up north along the coast. Ian reports that he had 10 different sightings of 2 or 3 birds and one sighting of some 20-30 birds nesting in burrows in a sand bank. Im not sure if Blue-cheeked Bee-eater has been ruled out on all of those but the pictures hes sent me are undoubtedly Olive Bee-eater.
