Id like to appeal to the cyclists of Totton! Were only one working day into the New Year and so far on my way to/from work (In the dark) have noticed the vast majority of cyclists either have no lights or really cr*ppy ones! Many cyclists still think its also a good idea to wear black! Out of about 20 cyclists seen today maybe only 4 or 5 had what Id call adequate lighting. Rubbish Poundland lights or those with flat batteries dont cut it either. You need a set of decent, bright lights and reflective clothing. A helmet is also a sensible idea.. This isnt intended as an anti cycling rant, far from it. I fear there will be yet another tragedy unless cyclists learn to light up properly. PLEASE. Look after yourselves and other road users.
