Id like to give a little info on myself for the Junk Bass page. Id like to see Junk Bass attract some more musicians. It could be a good music lounge type forum...... Ive played guitar since 1963.I put together a band when I was 11 and performed originals in our music class at school here in Columbus. By 14 I was playing in Black Cloud with friends . We had real gigs.I was the drummer. Not many gigs though. Id carry my drums a mile or so and Id make a couple trips all for the love of the sport . By 1973 I was taking up bass and by 77 I was playing bass and rythem guitar professionally in and around Columbus and Central Ohio .In late 79 I went on the road playing 6 nights a week 5 sets a night. I did that untill early 81. I traveled around the Southern US on the Hotel Motel circuit. Later In the 80s I did the AL-Rosa Villa gigs and other places around town doing the Heavy Metal. That was getting me nowhere fast. So I changed gears and became a truck driver in 1985. Im talkin break One Nine wheres the Bears 18 wheeler hammer down trucking. I still played music during my years in the trucks. But after about one million miles the trucking wore me down > Trucking is not real good for the health. 15 years in a semi has a way of killing you slowly if you let it. So I hung up my spurs in 2000 and proceded to get a regular job. I had friends Id known since grade and High School that played music. We got together in the early 2000s and started a Tueday Night Music Club. The band that came out of that was called The Working Stiffs. The Stiffs later became These Guys Live with the addition of a singer. The band was very popular during the time I was in it. I left the band in Jan 2012. They still play around town and Im sure they will milk it for all its worth as long as they can. Those guys will do gigs from a hospital bed with tubes coming out of thier necks if you let them. So onward into the darkness we go! I have owned over 90 guitars. Ive built many from parts. I enjoy all aspects of gear and guitars and amps. Ive learned a lot while Ive been involed in music. Today I still play the bass guitar in a group called Bone Tonic. I still have the urge to play and I doubt it will ever leave me..... so.. enough said for now. Have a great day and enjoy!!!!!!!
