Id like to remind everyone that Obama is not, in fact, running for a third term, no matter what you heard or how stupid you are. Please resist the urge to (continue to in a few cases, unfortunately) spam Facebook with anti-Obama propaganda after tomorrows election. Its just ridiculous. Hes not running again. Hes not going anywhere. Youre not going to dig up a reason to impeach him in the next two years. Hes not the anti-Christ. Hes just a corporate stooge like all the rest of them. Notice that no matter who gets elected, most of the shit you actually want to happen doesnt happen? Thats because you dont control what happens; money does. Youre just given a semblance of a choice to keep you playing. As the TWO YEAR LONG election season is thrust upon us, remember that it doesnt matter who the Democrats or Republicans give us, were all screwed unless we all start paying attention. (And no, the Libertarians arent going to save us either.) You have to remember that the things that NBC, CBS, CNN, Fox News, etc tell you are in the best interest of the corporations that own them, not yours. Its not just the lies they tell you, its the things they talk about. Ebola? Not an issue. But it sure is fun to use it as ammunition in your anti-foreigner campaign. Climate Change? A big issue, but there is no actual debate. Almost all climate scientists agree that climate change is real, and its heavily influenced by us. The Non-Fox-News-Corporate media (sometimes mistakenly called liberal media by right wing extremists) pretends that there is a debate so instead of trying to fix the problem, we argue about it. Why? The corporations that own them also own oil and car companies and they want you to continue to suck down oil. Fox News, also owned by companies with an interest in having us stick to oil, on top of that pushes the conservative principle of ditching responsibility for public damage if at all possible, and thus advocates for not doing anything about the climate. So we pretend theres a debate and keep going as before. So you cant trust anything on TV, or any big name newspapers or magazines. Look for independent news and news based outside of the country. If you want anything close to the truth, but continue to consume American corporate-owned news, youre doing it wrong. (And no, watching nothing but Fox News, Beck, and Alex Jones clips online but not on the television doesnt count as not watching Fox News. Try again.)
