Idaho Author commemorates 40th Anniversary of the Reburial of Jeremiah Johnson Tri Robinson, founding pastor of Vineyard Boise and local author, has just released a new book commemorating the 40th anniversary of the relocation of the remains of famous mountain man Jeremiah Johnson. The book is titled ‘The Committee for the Reburial of Liver-eating Johnston; Memoirs of a Dyslexic Teacher’. The book tells the amazing story of how 24 junior high school kids in 1974 petitioned Congress, and raised public support including that of celebrity Robert Redford, to disinter the grave of Jeremiah Johnson from a veteran’s cemetery in Los Angeles to the Big Sky country of Cody, Wyoming. The reburial ceremony in Cody, Wyoming on June 6th, 1974 was the largest funeral in Wyoming history up to that point in time. Here is a YouTube video of that event 40 years ago: youtu.be/02E56gGvwt0
