Given poor quality audio, hearing problems and background noise even an obvious quote can be a challenge. Multiple choice questions are great as they allow team discussion and debate. People who dont know the correct answer can still participate in a process of elimination. Another form of question that you might not have considered is a Rank Them. A rank them question involves the teams ordering a collection according to some attribute. For example, order the planets Jupiter, Saturn, Mars and Venus according to their size, from smallest to largest. Ordering celebrities from youngest to oldest or even by height can be fun. Whenever possible try and throw in the unexpected. You could have a round all about people named Frank. Perhaps even a round where all answers must be written on the answer sheet backwards. Throwing in something unusual will cause the quiz participants to refocus on the quiz. Remember to only include questions with clear cut factual answers. Asking questions whose answers are subjective opinions is asking for trouble. Even with objective fact based questions and answers you can expect someone to challenge your correct answer. This can be a good opportunity to raise some additional money by charging an appeal fee.
