Idiocracy....is it inevitable? in the age of information, has information become so easy to obtain that it is taken for granted? when it was hard to achieve, people treasured and revered knowledge and wisdom. now it is almost shunned like the red headed step child. people have hostility for science and professionals and call highly educated folks elitists. in general, educating ones self is substituted with sound bytes and memes and easily digested incomplete opinion snippets. facebook is a commercial for idiocracy in many respects. internet junkies claim that the rest of America is being dumbed down by the media, not realizing that the very internet they are glued to is probably the most easily controlled media outlet there is. if I wanted people to believe anything, I would leak it on social media sites and millions would believe it instantly. its the easiest thing in the world. no one fact checks. no one uses discernment or common sense. most of America seems to be a lost cause. perhaps there will ultimately be a great divide...between intellectuals and those who shun genuine intelligence. one side will continue to evolve while the other devolves into a nonfactor. this clip is reminiscent of many today, particularly the grammar. https://youtube/watch?v=y0O7_3o3BrI
