If Gods promise is only for those who obey the law then faith is not necessary and the promise is pointless. For the law always brings punishment on those who try to obey it. The only way to avoid breaking the law is to have no law to break. (Romans 4:14-15 Apostle Paul) And Jesus said to the women, Your faith has saved you; go in peace. (Luke 7:50) It is finished! (John 19:30) Is anyone else seeing a pattern here? I pray so...to taste of his Grace is to gain victory over sin...there is no other way. If teaching holds precedent over the finished works of Christ in the pulpit there is a good chance that law is what your hearing and with it can come no victory. Undeserved favor, GRACE, and abundance have been provided through our Savior when he carried the cross to the place of the skull.
