If I could blame our USC game on other factors than us just getting our butts whipped, and Tennessee wanting the win more, I would say the stage was set earlier this week with the media bragging relentlessly about Connor Shaw, just like they did with Clowney. I mean, I wish we could just have a gag order on the press, and let them brag after the season is over. All that praise distracts our team, not that it is something you can control. And it fires the other team up. Then you have the super vigilant refs to call every little thing (if you watch others they cal sparingly in some games). Penalty after penalty. And I swear, it must be a mentality going into the game--dont give players an inferiority complex going in--just prepare your game and let them go. Go for it---throw the ball down the field, not the same run to the left, run to the right. The USC team is not a cerebral team, just let them go for it! We had a team that could have beaten Tennessee. I swear, sometimes I think big gambling money is behind some of the factors, because I bet they racked up today...but I dont know much about that. Anyway, like I said earlier, I would rather lose to ANYONE rather than Tennessee. And this comes from many years of watching these two teams play football.
