If I could trade places or be anyone other than who I am, I would trade with my 2 kids. I would gladly take away their disease, pain, coughing, tiredness all the time, each and every one of their struggles. Last night I watched my son help his sister with homework. His back hurting him so bad and him gasping for air; her coughing every other breath and tired from the coughing. I watched a young girl who decided to marry my son despite his health issues, taking care of his every need. I watched my mother as she asked both Skylar and Madi did they need or want anything else and willing to go to the end of the earth to get it for them. I held back my tears because, well, mamas are suppose to be strong. My heart smiled because I was given the privilege of being their mother. God gave me the honor of being their mother. Despite the difficult life they have, they are absolutely perfect. I would die today if I knew that they no longer would have to suffer with CF, rejection issues, infections all the time, coughing all the time, medications, IVs, bloodwork, hospital stays. I would take it all from them if I could. I thank God everyday that He allowed me to be called mama by those 2 little ppl. I thank God everyday that my son has a wife that despite everything and being fearful of the unknown, she is by his side. And I thank God for my mother because she has always been the best grandmother she could be to my kids. I only wish I could have CF and not them........
