If I may return to a tread quite some time ago now - how do our friends around the world cope with the Englishness of G&S. I was listening (again) to Trial by Jury and the Counsel sings: Camberwell became a bower, Peckham an Arcadian Vale... - how are they going to understand about places outside of their ken? And are there any other very English things in the operas that people who havent lived here would find difficulty with? (nb: for Englishness also read Britishness)
