If I talk now dem go say I don come again. Polytechnic education in Nigeria has been grounded now for over 10 months as a result of strike by the Non-academic Staff Union of Polytechnics. Their academic union counterpart ASUP has joined them in solidarity. Polytechnic students are at home, and new ones are supposed to join them soon having passed their JAMB examination. There seems to be no solution in sight. Yet we have Education Minister, Nyesom Wike, whose only preoccupation right now is to become River State governor in 2015. Clearly, Nyesom Wike has abandoned his duties as Minister of Education. Even worse, those charged with the responsibility of exercising oversight functions over the executive arm of government cannot care less. I do not know who to blame for this. Maybe Boko Haram or APC. God dey!
