If I were a person who was charismatic and could make people believe that god is talking to me, I too would be able to do anything, and use god as an excuse, especially during times when people were ignorant of everything. A lot of people are stupid, a great example for this is how many people follow such a violent religion i.e. Islam. The pedophiliac, genocidal, misogynistic murderer named Muhammad was this type of opportunistic person.
