If I were an actually courageous and involved person, I wouldn’t study English, or politics or activism, or even philosophy, but the History of the Internet, because the Internet is the most important invention in human history, its metaphoric potential universal, cosmic, and its existential implications therefore huger than I think any of us are trying to examine, its multitude of waves and genres incorporating and dissecting (at the very least) religion, sociology, law, macro- and micro-economics, medicine, neuroscience, all forms of self-expression, and the histories of each, its trajectory the most fundamental thing someone currently alive and attempting to produce thoughts, of anything, anyone, can endeavor to detect.
