If No wins, then its the triumph of fear, idiocy and narrow - TopicsExpress

If No wins, then its the triumph of fear, idiocy and narrow self-interest. The two campaigns are not comparable. Yes ran a positive campaign and offered a real prospect of change. No banked on uncertainty and scaremongering. Yes appealed to reason. No appealed to baser instincts. Yes tried to preserve what was best about the UK. No insisted on a common journey to the bottom. Yes was vibrant, grassroots. NO was scripted, top-down. The most telling difference however is that whereas Yes remained a visible campaign, no was conducted from the shadows. On the streets everyones a Yes. NO creeps in dark places, prophesying doom, fearing exposure. Regardless of the outcome, Yes has made history. In spite of victory, NO would have interrupted progress. Im glad that on this historic day, I was on the right side of history. I also had the right company. Because NOs most distinctive feature is that it is mindless. YES on the other hand is creative, progressive, and intelligent. The day might belong to NO, but the future belongs to YES.
