If Peta Credlin really is wearing the pants designated to Tony Abbott then I am not a fan. What I would be a fan of would be people discussing her work without having to reference her gender. In the last 24 hours, Ive seen Clive Palmer accuse her of masterminding the parental payment scheme for her own benefit (like she needs the money), and call her top dog before some furious back-pedalling. In an interview regarding Clives gaffe, Barnaby Joyce told us, I’m on good information from her husband she’s definitely a woman,” cue more furious back pedalling. And what did our revered Prime Minister have to say, to defend his chief of staff in response to these displays of ingrained misogyny? “I think that blokes around this place have learned to underestimate women at their peril,” Mr Abbott told reporters in Canberra. For fecks sake. Not underestimate powerful opponents or allies, power brokers or even staffers, underestimate women. I dont even. At least this bullshit proves their main problem with Gillard wasnt her policies or aptitude for her former role, but just a severe dislike of being told what to do by women, who are by default of their genitals, all sneaky, self interested and vengeful dogs.
