If a church books a plumber, carpenter, cleaner etc to come and do a job, I bet they get paid. So, why not musicians? Thats three times now Ive been booked, played the event, and not been reimbursed. Ive taken time away from my family, turned down other paid work and then even had to pay my band out of my own pocket. Youd think, given that people know that music is my living, it would be in these peoples minds - but apparently not. Ive done over a thousand gigs in pubs and this only happened once there. Sorry for the rant, Im just trying to highlight a problem. Have other folks had similar trouble? Do speakers/preachers have this happen to them, I wonder?
