If any major cities go dark, all hell will break loose. Considering how socially unstable many of our big cities already are today, and considering the fact that millions depend on EBT cards for their food, supermarkets will be looted to the shelves in a matter of days if not hours. All other businesses from Wal-mart to the small mom-and-pops will be looted and burned soon after. Getting control of the mega-violence will not be easy, even if the electricity is restored.
