From my friend Christopher Sawin: So, I am looking for a good reference for Egyptian mythology. Im looking for something that stays close to the text as possible. Something maybe 1st or 2nd dynasty. A close read that will allow me to make meaningful connections between divinities without actually requiring me to read hieroglyphics. Does anyone have reference(s) to share? Essentially what I would like to find is the myths told by the storytellers of the time. Political/historical perspective would be amazing, but that could be a second book.
