If anyone knows me knows that my mother suffered with schizophrenia and that as a child I wasnt very nice to my mum because of she had mental health issues and to me she was a bit of embarrassment but as now I have got older I can understand the stigma around mental health issues and the discrimination that people have to face each day. My friend had a poem and is about a woman who is facing challenges with her mental-health and her family didnt support her and her children and society also didnt support her this made me think of my mother. Why should they be treated any less than any other person and why should they be discriminated because of the health issues? What I am seeing now with what government is doing to everybody is cutting services that are vital especially with the mental health cutting down support services getting rid of centres that they attend to live a normal life and seek help and support where is there support? Been discriminated because youre a mental health issue doesnt just affect your work also affect you having a home living a normal life with your family and friends without support network and support workers and a place for them to go and talk to someone this means depression and anxiety in some cases suicidal thoughts. I look on the Facebook pages of hypermobility syndrome and fibro and depression and so many people are seeking for support and understanding and a bit of empathy so many people that are crying all night in pain some people up because their lonely because They have no one to talk to and it makes me feel sad that they had to resort to Facebook to receive any kind of support. How can they shut down centre and say they doing it because they need the money its going to cost the government more money for treatment under the NHS when these people are suffering. We need urgently more support workers more services for the mentally ill and also the disabled.
