If ever there was a day to illustrate the value of context, this is it. I awoke this morning with every intent of tuning out and concentrating on work, which is when I encountered what I see as a bullshit announcement from Ontarios Beer Store oligopoly and I reacted accordingly. Shortly thereafter, I heard about the tragedy in Paris. So while Paris lingered in the back and occasionally the front of my mind -- I have an emotional family attachment to France that makes everything all the more poignant -- I stickhandled getting some actual paying work done and commenting on the Beer Store situation, including going out to tape an interview with the local news, because whatever else was happening in the world, these were important issues in my little corner of it.
