“If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” Romans 12:18 I do not view myself as a “good man” regardless of what others may or may not think about me I know who I am. Long have I struggled and resisted what the Lord has called me to do. I have made major improvements and there are some things I will never do again. There is no point on elaborating on sin and I certainly do not wish to give any glory to the shameful acts of my past. Millions of religious people believe that being a good person means they have favor with God and have somehow earned a place in heaven. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this is not what the Bible teaches. Even the most righteous people sin, “For there is not a just man (person) upon earth, that does good, and sins not.” Ecclesiastes 7:20. How often do we delude ourselves about what we believe is right? “A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart.” Proverbs 21:2. So what is the answer? Everyone has to decide for themselves. For me, I see a very narrow path to walk, one I often stumble on but there is good news. “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:” Colossians 1:27. I am confident in this one thing, that it is in Christ and Christ ALONE that I will ever be judged righteous. “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21
