If, like us, you find yourself in a panicky, budget focused state of mind... dont underestimate Dollar Tree even for food. Weve bought Yoo Hoo, V8, veggie spring rolls, pizza crusts, (HFCS free) preserves, frozen veggies, whole grain bread, soy milk & even canola (vegan, non-GMO) mayo. Everything for spinach mushroom lasagna other than ricotta; for seafood gumbo other than okra. Spices (inc Jamaican jerk sauce). Even junk party food like cheese sticks and jalapeño poppers. Our other mainstays are international markets ($1 curry pastes, 39 cent/lb Romas and tomatillos?!) and the Easy Way clearance table (2-4 bags of produce for under $10). It may suck to count pennies and make multiple stops, and it may not always be locally grown, but in Memphis you can eat pretty well even on a strict budget. #startuplife
