If music and mathematics are consider to be forms of language - TopicsExpress

If music and mathematics are consider to be forms of language (many theorists do postulate this), then is early developmental exposure prerequisite to acquisition (like has been proven with syntactical language)? If so, is that exposure further refined by type/form (like rhythmic percussive verses scaled or textured music)? I’m sure there is a measure of truth to this because of childhood plasticity, but I’m curious about more specific empirical proof. Any takers?
