If not for Kumas help the Strawhats would be imprisoned and executed by the world government I wonder if kuma is related to Luffys mother but that is just my speculation anyways,he is kinda like Sirius Black in a way, introduced first as a bad guy but actually was a good guy in the end,if not for his help the strawhats would not get mentored by the following teachers or circumstances: Luffy-mentored by rayleigh and harsh circumstances Zoro-mentored by Mihawk Nami-mentored by the Geniuses who look like magicians Usopp-mentored by Heracles Sanji-mentored by the Ivankov and the okama kingdom Chopper-mentored by the island dwellers and their vast medicine library Robin-rescued by the revolutionaries and mentored by Dragon maybe Franky-stumbled upon vegapunks lab and researched on it Brook-mistaken identity and becomes famous while honing his musical skills and swordskill being used by cunning individuals I wonder where his copse is now I mean we seen it last leaving a message to Franky I guess it stopped working and shutdown
