If we ever needed proof that Macduff is way down the pecking order - TopicsExpress

If we ever needed proof that Macduff is way down the pecking order we have it now. Council Officers supposed to be visiting the businesses only to give a no show. And they wonder why they are given a hard time. Has the Business Association been approached to get involved? It’s not like we have a bustling town centre !! The next issue to hit us will be the gap site left after the demolition of the Highland Haven. Are we going to get another round of consultants stating the obvious to us !!Over the last few days I have spoken to residents from Rosehearty, Pennan and Macduff who have pointed out areas within their settlements which with a little investment would make a big difference to them. Much is being spoken about town centre regeneration and the money that is supposed to come to our rescue, the truth is it is not a pot of gold and on its own unlikely to make a whole lot of improvements. We can also expect another round of budget cuts. As I pointed out at the HUSTINGS meeting there is funding and areas of income generation out there which will help community groups and businesses to prosper and be less reliant on Local Authority monies. One thing obvious to me having attended numerous meetings and events throughout the ward, is the amount of work that Hamish Partridge has done, if elected I would certainly go in alongside him to fight for a degree of equity for the Troup ward
