This person introduces programs and music, reads commercial copy and public service announcements, contributes to station social media initiatives and is involved in the overall public presentation of the station. The On-Air Personality’s objective is to maximize audience acceptance and ratings by effectively projecting the station’s desired on-air image. The On-Air Personality will perform assigned responsibilities in a professional manner while following the station format, company policies and procedures while working as an effective team member. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Job Requirements: On-air radio experience required, excellent verbal and communication skills, outstanding ability to relate and communicate with target audience, positive attitude both on and off the air Applicants must possess a strong work ethic, be well-read, punctual, and be a team player with a cooperative attitude Announce musical selections, station breaks, commercials, or public service information, and accept requests from listening audience. Keep daily program logs to provide information on all elements aired during podcast, such as musical selections and station promotions. Moderate panels or discussion shows on topics such as current affairs, art, or education. Voice and produce high quality, commercials. Daily contributions to station social media efforts including, but not limited to Facebook posts and Twitter feeds. Interview show guests about their lives, their work, or topics of current interest. Discuss various topics over the telephone with viewers or listeners. Coordinate games, contests, or other on-air competitions, performing such duties as asking questions and awarding prizes. Provide commentary and conduct interviews during sporting events, parades, conventions, and other events. Maintain a positive and approachable attitude when around listeners and clients Prepare and deliver news, sports, and/or weather reports, gathering and rewriting material so that it will convey required information and fit specific time slots Select program content, in conjunction with producers, based on factors such as program specialties, audience tastes, or requests from the public. Study background information in order to prepare for programs or interviews. Comment on music and other matters, such as weather or traffic conditions. Locate guests to appear on talk or interview shows. Make regular approved appearances station events Host civic, charitable, or promotional events that are broadcast over the radiouz Make promotional appearances at public or private events in order to represent the radiouz Describe or demonstrate products that viewers may purchase through specific shows or in stores. Record commercials for future broadcast RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High school graduate or equivalent required. College and/or technical education desirable. Minimum of three years’ experience in a commercial radio station as an On-Air Personality. Minimum of three years’ experience in a commercial radio station voicing and producing commercials. Knowledge: Must be able to read, write and understand Uzbek, Russian and English at a high school level or above. Skills: Must have an acceptable and appropriate on-air presence and voice quality. Be able to prepare and execute compelling, informative, interesting, timely and localized air- personality segments in a music format. Be able to enunciate clearly and read written copy fluently as required Excellent interpersonal skills. Basic computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs. Knoweledge of social media platforms and willingness to use them to promote the radiouz Excellent written and oral communication skills. Abilities: Ability to take ownership of the Managerial job and then appropriately adjust performance or behavior as directed. Ability to be attentive to detail. Ability to organize and prioritize work in a timely manner and react well under pressure. Ability to maintain confidentiality in regard to personnel matters, company/station strategies and other sensitive matters in communications with listeners, co-workers, industry associates and the media. Ability to project desired company image with respect to dress and demeanor.
