If you are interested in training opportunities at the nations only facility for disaster preparedness, please refer to this link at https://cdp.dhs.gov/. You will need to submit all the necessary documents and get the State or Tribal coordinators approval before you are granted access to the Center for Disaster Preparedness in Anniston, Alabama. From my personal experience, I went through a couple of simulation exercises at the Center. For one of many exercises, I was exposed to various biological agents. At the end I was tested to make sure that I was free from biological agents. It was one of the most memorable experience in my life. This is not for everyone, but it definitely gives you the proper training for unexpected outcomes (e.g., mass casualties, natural disasters, chemical or biological exposure, etc.).
