If you are on dialysis OR if you have advanced chronic kidney disease, you may be able to help with an important study! The American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) is partnering with the Arbor Research Collaborative for Health on a study called "Empowering Patients On Choices for Renal Replacement Therapy" (EPOCH-RRT). The goal of the study is to find what factors are most important to patients who choose dialysis as their treatment option. Participation in this study involves one confidential 30 minute telephone interview to find out more about your experience with chronic kidney disease, how you manage your kidney disease, and what is important to you in making choices about dialysis options. You must meet all of the following criteria to participate: •You are at least 18 years old •You have advanced chronic kidney disease (either Stage 4 or 5) or anticipate to start dialysis in the next six months •If you are in Stage 5, you are currently on dialysis and have been on dialysis for at least 3 months •You are willing to participate in one 30 minute phone interview ABOUT THE SURVEY Your Feedback is Important The EPOCH-RRT study was made possible by funding from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). The study results will be used to develop a website to assist patients facing the choice of dialysis options. Interested? We hope so.
