If you asked me ten years ago, when I turned 34, what my life would look like at 44, what I would have described wouldnt resemble the life I have, but thats not a bad thing at all. I am extremely fortunate to be where I am. If youd asked me then if I wanted any more children, I would have responded with an emphatic negative. I would have cited overpopulation, the chance that my kids will inherit my genetic diseases, etc. I am so glad my perspective changed. 4 years ago today Jessica showed up in my life again. Excellent timing on her part; I was receptive to new love and a new future. Together we have overcome many obstacles and tackled many struggles and are blessed with two beautiful and wonderful children. I may be poor as the proverbial church-mouse, fighting severe disabilities, and struggling to reinvent myself, again, but I am sooo lucky in all other ways. The fact that I am still here today to share time and attention with such wonderful people as my friends and family is the best birthday gift a person could want. You are beautiful people, never forget that.
