If you do not attend college, you are seriously missing out. Not because of the parties or the convenient food, the independence of being able to do what you want or miss class whenever you feel like it. You are missing out because of the stuff that you become aware of during lectures. Last semester when I was choosing which classes to take this semester I decided to take an english theory class just for the sake of being able to read The Great Gatsby. First 2 weeks went by and I absolutely hated this class and the professor. Today, during and after lecture, I completely fell in love with this class and the professor as we came upon the subject of capitalism and marxism. We watched the video thats attached to this status and all of the crap that is wrong with this world hit me right in the face. Basically what Im doing right now is calling the general public out. Do people not realize what is going on? The whole purpose of Democrats Vs. Republicans? Corporations in America and what theyre feeding into? It is absolutely crazy. People have this idea that Democrats and Republicans are completely against each other, that they are at odds but in reality they are working together. The President is just a Public Figure and none of what he does makes a difference in the world. If you think that all of our problems in this country are just going to go away when Barack Obama is out of office you are seriously mistaken. It is those working beneath him that make this country what it is, whether or not these people are Democratic or Republican. Our criticisms of this country are feeding into the very thing we are critiquing. These problems are so huge that I am sincerely pissed off. Why? Because this system we are living in is so messed up and we are numbed to all of the things actually going on because of our lack of consciousness. We are comfortable so we do nothing about it.
