If you get rescued from a burning building and get spared (saved) - TopicsExpress

If you get rescued from a burning building and get spared (saved) from perishing in the fire are you then able to reenter the same burning building without the risk of perishing in the same fire? NO! OF COURSE NOT! Its not your placement in the burning building that poses the threat to loss of life, its the flame. The building doesnt suddenly become safe simply because youve been safely removed from it...its the fire that burns which causes the building to remain unsafe. Jesus didnt remove sin...sin still exists. Jesus removed us. We were separated from sin. And as a result of this removal, we became reconciled with God. By separating us from sin we could return to a fellowship with the Father through the Son. Thus, once we have been separated from sin, what makes anyone believe that we can now return to it without any consequences whatsoever? Sin is the flames which we must avoid. If it burned us before it will burn us again. If were covered by the Blood we might be fireproof, but if one remains in the same fire long enough, even with a fireproof suit, that person will begin to cook like a roast wrapped in foil and placed into an oven. Sin is not your friend! The heat alone from sins flames is at a high enough temperature to cook you in it...fireproof or not. Heat is still hot...and where theres smoke, theres fire. One can die from smoke inhalation just from being in the proximity of sin. Hallelujah! If there was nothing wrong with sin then why would Christ need to go to the Cross to die in order to separate us from it in the first place? Why undergo all of that just so we can continue on in sin after we get saved? Christ Fulfills the Law Matthew 5:17-20 New King James Version 17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew Henrys Concise Commentary Matthew 5:17-20 Let none suppose that Christ allows his people to trifle with any commands of Gods holy law. No sinner partakes of Christs justifying righteousness, till he repents of his evil deeds. The mercy revealed in the gospel leads the believer to still deeper self-abhorrence. The law is the Christians rule of duty, and he delights therein. If a man, pretending to be Christs disciple, encourages himself in any allowed disobedience to the holy law of God, or teaches others to do the same, whatever his station or reputation among men may be, he can be no true disciple. Christs righteousness, imputed to us by faith alone, is needed by every one that enters the kingdom of grace or of glory; but the new creation of the heart to holiness, produces a thorough change in a mans temper and conduct.
