If you happen to see the black MPC signs on the front corner lot, please send an email out to the neighborhood quickly. There are only about 10 days between when a sign appears and when MPC votes. Issues that ultimately go to the City Council (like our rezoning problem) are best handled at MPC. Now that we know a little more about how the system works, we probably would have hired John King before the MPC meeting – the request gets denied before it moves on to City Council. Some issues, such as subdivision plans, ONLY go to MPC (no second chance at City Council). Neighbors who regularly pass by that site really need to keep their eyes open for the MPC signs. We have a year until they can request the RP-1 zoning again, but any other rezoning or a new subdivision plan could happen at any time.
